Sola’s Brew

Introducing

Based in Sauble Beach, Sola’s Bar and Grill offers an in-house lager made for hot summer days. I worked with their team to develop a fun and unique beer label, inspired by the endless Sauble coastline and beautiful sunsets.

Goals

The project's goal was to create a beer can label that was consistent with the restaurant's branding while showcasing Sauble Beach's iconic landmarks and relaxed ambiance.

Timeline

The project was completed within a 3-week timeline, encompassing initial discussions, the design phase, and collaboration with the print company.

Challenges

The project presented unique hurdles, including matching the beer can design to the restaurant branding, capturing the beach-inspired atmosphere, and ensuring the graphics seamlessly fit the can/label dimensions.

Process

Discussion and Ideation:

We initiated the project with an in-depth discussion to align with the restaurant's brand. Collaborating closely with the client, I developed several mood boards that would help guide the direction of the following design steps.

Sketches and Digital Work:

During this phase, I based most of my designs around the beach landscape and sunset. From this initial direction, I was able to integrate a large sun, an extended beach with palm trees, and various beach graphics that faded into the background.

Mock-ups and Presentation:

Once the design was finalized, I created realistic mock-ups to visualize the label on the product, ensuring alignment with branding, Sauble Beach landmarks, and aesthetics. The client's approval of these mock-ups was pivotal before proceeding with printing and stocking the restaurant.
